Program Overview

In the rural village of Lalithadripura, Mysore, a new chapter of hope has begun, thanks to the Volunteers from NXP and Best People Foundation. Located over 150 kilometers from Bangalore, this village’s Government Higher Secondary School recently welcomed a computer learning center, benefiting 180 students. For many, it was their first interaction with computers—an experience that transformed fear into fascination.

Our team began by teaching them how computers work. But this wasn’t just about turning on a machine or learning to type on the keyboard. The program went deeper. The students were encouraged to take apart the desktops, piece by piece. They held the components in their hands—processors, memory chips, hard drives—understanding how each one fit into the bigger picture.

We introduced them to Micro:bit, showing how electronics connect with hardware and software. They learned how sensors and software code make everyday things work. This hands-on approach turned their fear of technology into fascination.

This hands-on approach sparked confidence and ambition. “I can now open a computer and explain how it works,” shared a student. Inspired by career possibilities in electronics and engineering, many began dreaming of becoming creators and entrepreneurs, bringing innovation back to their village.

Echoing Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam’s vision—“Dream, dream, dream. Dreams transform into thoughts and thoughts result in action”— our team empowers youth to believe in their potential.

Our teamwork is a reminder that small efforts can ignite big change. By investing in rural education, we’re not just teaching skills; we’re shaping futures and building a stronger, more inclusive society. With collective action, we can ensure every child has the opportunity to shine.
